Business-to-business emarketplace Pumpkart has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from the chairman for startups and entrepreneurship at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Dinesh Dua, increasing its valuation to $9.87 Mn (INR 70 Cr).
Zomato-UberEats Deal: Cab Company May Invest Up To $200 Million
Ride-hailing major Uber is in discussions to invest $100-200 million in fresh capital as part of the sale of its India food-delivery business to local rival Zomato, said multiple people directly aware of the transaction. The investment will come into the combined entity of Zomato and UberEats, making the fund infusion an integral part of the share-swap deal between the two, sources close to the matter said.
Textile-Focused Ecommerce Firm Baibu Closes $300m Series D Round
Guangzhou-based business-to-business textile trading platform Baibu (not to be confused with the search engine Baidu) has closed its series D round, with investors pouring in $300 million. It was the largest ever fundraising round in China’s textile industry, 36Kr reported on Monday.
Ecom Express, a tech-enabled Indian company providing end-to-end logistics solutions, has secured $36 million in equity investment from CDC Group, a UK government-owned development finance institution and impact investor in South Asia and Africa.
